After a few years of hard work in New York clubs, the liquid punk energy of the Stray Cats set London on fire in the early 1980s

Stray Cats

Close to Teddy boys and punks, the three musicians produce rockabilly music of phenomenal energy on stage with rudimentary means: Brian Setzer on vocals and Gretsch acoustic guitar, Slim Jim Phantom on double bass, and Lee Rocker on snare and cymbal played standing up.

We watched them in Geneva in May 1981 during their first incandescent European tour. Cats had a short life but its members still carrried out their own projects.
