David Linx 4tet
The Belgian composer and producer David Linx is one of the finest jazz singers we can hear today. He has his personal way of phrasing and articulating each note, of using the full range of his voice to improvise like a brass soloist. He retains the soul of gospel, the movement of the swing, the rhythm and the spirit of the blues, all deeply rooted in jazz.
David Linx brought together a powerful 4tet, with Grégory Privat on piano, Chris Jennings on double bass and Arnaud Dolmen on drums to record the album Skin in the Game. It also included a recited poem referencing to his first album, recorded in 1987 with his great friend and writer James Baldwin (1) .
David Linx and his 4tet played in June 2022 at Club Chorus in Lausanne, Switzerland.
