The great history of the Chicago blues is alive and well in John Primer. He was the lead guitarist for legends like Muddy Water, Willie Dixon, Junior Wells and Magic Slim before embarking on a four-decade career of his own, winning numerous Blues Awards and two Grammys, most recently for Traditional Blues in 2024. But, as he told us on stage, «B.B. King said that you have to buy a Gibson to get rich. I’ve had a Gibson for a long time and I’m not rich».

We went to see John Primer at the Blues Rules Crissier Festival 2024, accompanied on stage by the charismatic Mississippi guitarist Lightnin' Malcolm and the sultry Belgian band Well Well Well.
