Live at the Cully Jazz Festival

Black Lives From Generation to Generation

Black Lives From Generation to Generation is a collective project initiated during the pandemic, a musical and multicultural response to racism and police violence in the USA. The group is made up of around fifteen musicians, whose composition may vary slightly during the course of the tour, bringing together different facets of African-American music such as hip-hop, funk, rock and blues.

The line-up we saw at the Cully Jazz Festival in April 2024 consisted of 13 musicians, including guest stars Raul Midón (gtr, voc) and Catherine Russell (voc).

The group from left to right: Catherine Russell (voc), Stefany Calembert (prod), DJ Grazzhoppa (mix), Tutu Poane (voc), Reggie Washington (bass), Gene Lake (drms), Federico Gonzales Peña (key), Marque Gilmore (drms), Jacques Schwarz-Bart (sax), Jean-Paul Bourelly (gtr, voc), Adam Falcon (gtr, voc), Raul Midón (gtr, voc), Sharrif Simmons (voc), David Gilmore (gtr)
